Baby Durre's gift box and Valentine's day

OMG, I am having a field day with knitting for Marlena and her baby (well Chad too, but mostly for Marlena and baby), won't know til Sept 6th if it's a boy or girl, but that's the way Chad and Marlena want it, so I can deal with that, we're all placing bets on what it is, but I have an idea, jut keeping it to myself ;)

Ravelympics start in 4 days, and oh I can't wait!!! Monkey Socks here I come :) I even found out where to get other colors of Claudia Handpainted yarn when I want some. Waiting for my Eat, Sleep, Knit order to come soon so I can start on a shawl. Won't make it for Valentine's day but that's okay. I ordered Malibrigo Merion Lace, in Littel Lovely. Can't wait to see it. Aly will end up being my swift next weekend when I'm not working on socks.

Also waiting for my Knit Pick's order to arrive. I ordered some sock blockers, regular blockers, some stitch markers and four sets of circular needles, it's my Valentine's Day from my mom and dad.

baby knitting

Knitting for baby Durre is coming along, although the first baby blanket is getting frogged for the second time. I am going to try to knit it on smaller needles to see if that helps some. Decided to take a break from it, and start a crocheted baby sweater to see if I can do better on that, I know I need to buy some more yarn for some other things for the baby, so we'll see how this project goes, I have until September sometime :)

Sock and baby knitting

I am on another sock knitting kick and found out a friend of a friend is pregnant which means MORE baby knitting. I love knitting for babies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is a list of what I am sticking in Marlena's box: A few baby blankets (I can get them done quick), some bibs, and a few sweaters, and if I have the time (she's not due til September, so I should be fine) some baby booties. Just need to get sport weight yarn for all of this now. I am so happy for Marlena.

Ooh, more Christmas gifts coming, how could I get so lucky???

My parents went to MN yesterday for the weekend so my husband and I are dog/cat/house sitting until tomorrow. I called them a little while ago to make sure they made it safe, so my daughter called me back asking what I wanted, when she exclaimed "we got you some sock yarn", oh I am extremely excited to see this new yarn. I was also told they tried to find a swift but couldn't. I did ask my mom to find me some size 1 and size 2 needles. I will try to post pictures when I get my new yarn tommorow.

I am thinking of getting some other sock yarn after tommorow as well. It's a toss up between some more Claudia Hand Painted or some Shibui Knits sock yarn. I am at ZERO miles for the 2010 Yarnathon so need to change that :)

Happy New Year

I am enjoying a great quiet weekend house sitting for my parents in Minnesota. We had a great party at our house last night with my parents and daughter, and GREAT food. I stuffed myself, and I think so did the rest of my family.

I haven't cashed my Christmas check from my mother in law yet, but I think I'm going to get some blue moon fiber arts yarn or some new needles for some yarn I have that requires size 2 needles, which I don't have.

Holy knitting Christmas

I had a WONDERFUL Christmas, aside from the fact that my aunt who I love dearly got me a yarn I can't knit with, due to the fact of having a sensitivity to acrylic ANYTHING. She got me two skeins of Lion Brand Homespun, an I taught myse3lf to knit kit, which is cool cause I have lost SEVERAL sitch markers. Socks, socks and MORE socks

I am still working on my first pair of monkeys, then my mom saw the pattern and said "Oh could you make me a pair?" so I said yes, then my daughter wanted a pair which means my oldest step daughter will want a pair. I am going to be swimming in socks I think. I'll have to see what my brother in law got me for Christmas before I go jumping into this project.

I have to frog my first Monkey due to teh fact that when I was knitting last night (I was technically knitting until 3 this morning) I dropped some stitches some how. Oops, but I got farther in the pattern than I thought I would have.

I'm done!!!!

My Christmas knitting is completely DONE!!! I started a pair of Monkey Socks for myself last night when I laid Scott's socks aside. I never thougth I'd get them done before Christmas but SO glad I did.

CHristmas baking has now taken over although only doing one batch of cookies a day unlike my grandmothers who did three or four a day. How I miss the days of getting together with them to bake. Today I baked Eggnog Cookies. They sounded interesting so I baked some.

Did some early Christmas shopping for myself!! I ordered some Malabrigo Lace yarn in Floral. I think I'm going to knit my mother in law a shawl for her birthday. She used to knit but she claims she wasn't any good and then her arthritis got to the point she couldn't do it anymore anyway, so this is something I am more than happy to do for her. If I like it I may have to get some for myself :) I don't knwo what pattern I am going to do it in though yet. We'll have to see. I do want to get some Blue Moon Fiber Arts yarn soon though, well after the holidays. I am thinking either Pink Granite or one of the other colors, I can't make up my mind right now and can't look at the site :(

Updated Christmas knitting progress

I am SO close to being finished with christmas knitting, and I couldn't be happier.

Mom's Christmas present is DONE, and wrapped and packed to come with us for Christmas morning.

Scooter's Christmas present is also wrapped, it's been done for a while.

Scott's Christmas present, one sock MOSTLY done, I have to kitchner the first sock but i want to stick it on a couple spair DPNs so that I can start the second sock since there are only 9 days to get this sock done, which I should be able to do.

Other items on my needles a table runner for my mom's dinning room table. I am hoping to start a pair of socks soon for my best friend's birthday which is New Year's Eve.

Updated Christmas Knitting

Well one gift is done, three to go. Scott's socks are not even STARTED, I am waiting for my replacement credit card to come in the mail. I lost my wallet somehow!!!!

Scooter's hoodie sweater is done (will try to post pictures tomorrow if I can - don't have a good internet signal at my house so usually come to my parents to get online.

Magnum's sweater is half done. I have been waking up WAY too early, and since it's the only Christmas present that I have yarn for at the moment, it's the one I am working on. Hopefully I can get yarn tomorrow or Monday for Mom and Scott's gifts, otherwise they're both getting coffee for Christmas.

Christmas Knitting

Here's what's on the needles for Christmas presents:

1) Mom's Christmas present. Sleeves are STARTED need to get more yarn to finish

2) Dog hoodie sweater for my brother's dauschaund Scooter, was done with it but had to redo it, GRRR!!!

3) Dog hoodie sweater for my behemuth of a German Sheperd/Siberian Husky mix, enough dog hair but can't leave him out of the loop ;)

Still need to knit:

1) Scott's (brother's friend) gift. Started a pair of socks but I was told he will not wear wool GRR!!!

What am i working on right now? Scooter's present. Should be done by this evening, if I don't clean the house! Which i need to do to find our Christmas tree base so we can put up the tree and decorate!!!

Illinois Bound

Up way to early to head to IL this morning. Knitting is packed and ready to go, at least between giving Jeremy directions I can either knit on Mom's christmas present or Aly's christmas present. Aly's getting a pair of socks in Bernat Sox in Pink Camoflauge. I am almost done with Mom's present. I have the right front and back done and the left front is started so I just have to finish that and the sleeves then block and sew it.

IL bound in the morning

Bright and early too. I have been sitting at the kitchen counter working on Mom's Christmas present and eating lunch. The right front I finsihed last night at around 2am. I couldn't sleep, and I'd been up for about 23 hours at that point. I will be bringing my knitting with me to Elgin. Either working on a pair of socks or Mom's sweater.

Christmas Knitting

I've been working on my mom's christmas present since the 21st or 22nd of this month. So far the back and most of the right front are done. Got more of it done in the ER today with Grandpa having severe constipation and having to go there this afternoon. I should be done with the rigth front sometime tonight, although I need some sleep. I have been up since 3am this morning. With no break. I packed for this weekend, then fed the dog, came to my parents and haven't slowed down one bit. Although if you count sitting at the kitchen counter working on said present is resting I guess I've gotten some of that, but shut my eyes not so much. I am thinking of doing another Dofuku kimono for my best friend for Christmas if this one works up as fast as it seems.

knitting and KALs and whatever else is on my mind tonight

I should be finishing some socks but the dang dog ATE my yarn. Don't ask me HOW he managed that one cause I really don't know, all I know is DH and I went out one night knitting bag was on the floor and good sock yarn no where to be found!!!!

I am in a KAL from Ready Set Knit (Web's America's Yarn Store podcast) and frankly it's driving me batty!! I talked to Kathy Elkins today and let her know and she said to let her knwo how it came out. Need to email Pixie if I can't figure it out on Wednesday. Other than that I am working on a Kimono for my mom for Christmas it's the Komon (I think that's the name of it) Kimono in Vicki Square's Knit Kimono book. I have a feeling I'll be making a bunch of kimono's for my friends (or the botanical Medalian Cardi if I get it all figured out). I need to make a stash trip to my LYS to see if Patty has any of the yarn for the kimono it was supposedly being discontinued but i could have sworn I saw it again in the new location. If not I'm SOL!!!!

DH does not know that i placed a key logger on the laptop so that I can check up on him slyly. Hmm that may come up in counseling tomorrow but we'll see.

Off to knit more of the kimono. i wish the patter worked with teh Pure Pima I bought. I may make myself one, out of it, but we'll see.

Sock knitting kick continues.....and my yarn shopping for my stash

I am still on a sock knitting Kick. Thanks to my friend Lori D. I am loving the socks on two circular needles!! I am going to try and get some new sock yarn soon, I am running low.

My first WEBS order came last week, four glorious hanks of Berroco's Pure Pima, I ordered 2 hanks in Curry, 1 hank in Coral and 1 hank in Limelight. My second order from WEBS should come sometime this week. I ordered one of their closeout items, Casade's Sienna in Mint Green. I've been on a green kick lately too, go figure that one out!

I am also hoping my swap package comes this week too. I know who had me in the swap after two days of trying to figure it out, although I have to give the yarn to two of my daughters as I have a sensitivity to the yarn, WAAAAH! I'm sure Deb will come up with some other fabulous items for me to recieve. I am almost done with my box, just need to have get a note together and in the box and off goes it goes to its recipent.

Okay, off to enjoy the cool lake water it's 88 degrees outside and the A/C is NOT working, which is making me rather cranky.

Memorial Day weekend and knitting socks and some other ramblings

This weekend my family is having it's traditional bbq minus a few poeple, but that's okay with me.

I have been on a sock knititng kick lately, I have two socks on circular needles going right now, a green pair and a pink pair. I think my youngest daughter may claim the pink pair, but we'll see. I also have a pink camoflauge pair going on regular DPNs. Those I will probably give to two of my daughters.

My oldest daughter wants to learn to knit this summer. Her younger sister knows how to knit already, just doesn't do it very often. I am giving the girls my acrylic yarn, since I am allergic to it, and I have some that was passed onto me by my mother in law, gotta love her but she forgot I was allergic.

Well I've been on blogster for 4 yrs now, WOW!!!

I also created a blog for the wedding, but it has ONE post, oops! So need to delete that blog if possible, since Jeremy (aka Jamie)and I have been married for two years almost.

On the knitting front, here's what's on my needles, a pair of socks on two circulars, a couple of sweaters, in two different colors dusty green and mustard yellow. Although they're acrylic and I'm allergic to acrylic. I guess it's time to find a new yarn to use :) I'm enjoying looking at WEBS yarn store online, oh my I could go a little nuts on that site!!!

I called my aunt yesterday, and asked a friend of hers to make me a nostepinne for Christmas, well now I'd also like a drop spindel!!! I was on another blog and saw the picture she had and oh I want both SO badly!!!

Finally finishing objects!

I've finished two tote bags, YAY! One of them was for my mother-in-law, so that's on it's way to her right now. I am not sure what to knit next, I have so many projects started it's not funny. I may finish Aly's sweater, for next fall, it's orange, and BRIGHT orange mind you.I have hte back done, and almost one sleeve, I just got so bored with it that I stopped working on it. I also started a wash cloth for my great niece. That I'll work on later this week I'm sure.

While sitting here typing, I decided I should work on Aly's sweater, so that's what I'm doing while waiting for the EX to get back to the office so that we can talk. We are still friends, which sometimes shocks me, but oh well, he said we need to talk. He knows it always freaks me out when he says that, that's what ended our whole good thing. He fell in love with a slut, but that's his problem not mine. Although that was a year ago and now they aren't together. Oh well once again, not my doing, so don't care. I just hate it when he tells me we need to talk.
